NIH Blood Donation Awareness Campaign (NHLBI)
Blood donation is a simple, safe act that can save lives—yet only 3% of eligible individuals donate each year. Fear and misinformation are two of the biggest barriers. With this in mind, we partnered with the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) to create a campaign that educates, builds trust, and encourages action.
Our cross-disciplinary team of designers, writers, and animators produced 11 videos, including testimonials and FAQs, featuring medical experts and long-time donors. These stories and insights were shared in a conversational, approachable way to make the process feel less intimidating and more accessible.
In addition to the video series, we developed marketing collateral, infographics, and social materials to support outreach efforts.
The videos were designed for different formats and audiences, including:
Kinetic videos – dynamic, text-driven content.
Animated testimonial videos – expert and donor voices paired with custom mixed media art.
Audiograms – short, shareable clips for social media based on the animated testimonial videos.
